Stellar “Think Pink” Luncheon Raises Funds for Breast Cancer Research

Stellar “Think Pink” Luncheon

The South Palm Beach County Chapter of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers (SPBC FAWL) recently hosted their annual Think Pink luncheon and silent auction, to benefit the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Lynn Cancer Center. The event, which was coordinated in part by Warner & Fitzmartin attorney Elissa Fitzmartin, was a huge success, raising over $1500 for breast cancer research and awareness education.

Over 70 attendees, including lawyers and judges throughout Palm Beach County, gathered at Farmer's Table Boca for the luncheon on Oct. 26, 2023, which featured guest speakers Dr. Heather Johnson, Preventative Cardiologist at Christine E. Lynn Women's Health and Wellness Institute and Lainie Jones, a cancer survivor and patient advocate. Dr. Johnson has been published in peer-reviewed publications including the American Heart Journal, Archives of Internal Medicine, Journal of Clinical Lipidology, Journal of Hypertension, Preventive Cardiology, and The Diabetes Educator.

The fundraising event’s silent auction, which featured a variety of items donated by local businesses, was also a big hit. Attendees bid on everything from gift certificates to restaurants and spas to Kravis Center tickets and wine gift baskets.

"We are so grateful for the support of our community in making this event such a success," said Elissa Fitzmartin. "Breast cancer is a devastating disease, but by working together, we can make a difference in the fight against it."

The proceeds from the luncheon will be used to support the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Lynn Cancer Center, which provides comprehensive cancer care to patients in Palm Beach County and beyond. The center offers a wide range of services, including early detection and screening programs, treatment for all types of cancer, and support services for patients and their families.

The Think Pink luncheon is just one of the many ways that the SPBC FAWL supports breast cancer research and awareness. The organization also hosts other fundraising events throughout the year and provides support to women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
